OFA Press Conference and Rally – Oakland
A joint Climate Change event of the Contra Costa, East Bay, and San Francisco chapters of Organizing for Action
We gather on August 14 to raise our voices and our support for President Obama's proposed Clean Power Plan and the goal of cutting carbon pollution 30 percent by 2030. Standards for carbon pollution will help prevent dangerous climate change, save lives, and strengthen our economy and communities. Polluted air and rising temperatures exacerbate such public health concerns as respiratory and heart problems. The public health effect of climate change disproportionally impacts the young, elderly, and poor – but it increases costs and strains the economy for all of us.
