Donald Trump approved the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline today – but this fight is far from over. This pipeline will never be built.
Keystone XL still has no route through Nebraska, landowners and tribal leaders are challenging the pipeline company’s application, and lawyers are preparing to fight the project in court.
People power stopped Keystone once before, and we’ll do it again. But we need to come together, get organized, and chart the path forward.
This pipeline would tear through sacred land, run under family farms and homes in America’s Heartland, and contribute directly to our climate crisis. We can’t afford this pipeline or any new fossil fuel infrastructure -- we need a clean energy economy that creates jobs without violating human rights or wrecking the climate
Now’s the time to join together to make sure Trump and his Big Oil cronies at TransCanada don’t jam this toxic pipeline down our throats at the expense of our communities and the climate. To protect our water and the climate, we must throw a wrench in Trump's plans and grow the movement to keep fossil fuels in the ground.
Join a live online strategy session that will happen on Monday, March 27th at 5pm.
Speakers will include:
Bill McKibben, 350.org
Jane Kleeb, BOLD Alliance
Wayne Frederick, Rosebud Sioux Tribe Council
Eriel Deranger, Indigenous Climate Action
Michael Brune, Sierra Club
Ultimately, this fight is bigger than one pipeline -- new fossil fuel infrastructure projects are facing resistance everywhere, and Keystone will once again stoke the flames.
This is game time -- not game over.
