Frack No! Act to Ban Fracking in Monterey County
Measure Z, a citizens’ initiative to ban fracking and other extreme oil recovery methods, is on the November ballot in Monterey County, the fourth largest oil-producing county in the state of California.
Big Oil has already started running TV and radio ads opposing Measure Z and is expected to spend over $10 million by election day in November, but California is on the way to being frack-free. A coalition of activists succeeded in persuading Alameda County to ban fracking in July.
Join us to celebrate the Alameda County triumph and learn how you can help pass Measure Z to ban fracking in “the nation’s salad bowl.” Monterey County needs your help now!
Our all-member gatherings provide a chance for us to get together and celebrate our victories over the past few months, get to know each other, and get ready for the featured event. Come join us, whether you are a seasoned member or a newbie, whether you've been active lately or not.
The climate has had important wins recently. Leasing of public land for fracking was stopped in California! There will be no coal by rail in Oakland! CleanPowerSF is a success! In short, please tell us if you are coming, so we know how much champagne to bring.
