We are working with colleges, universities, public pension funds, cities, counties, and faith-based organizations. We ask that they immediately freeze any new investment in fossil-fuel companies and divest completely within five years.
MONTHLY DIVESTMENT MEETING CHANGE
Phone conference 619.326.2772, access code 973-3470#
The April divestment meeting will be held by phone rather than in person at the Oakland 350.org office, as was originally planned.
The phone meeting will begin at 7:00 pm and is expected to last slightly more than an hour. The conference call number is 619.326.2772 (access code 973-3470#)
This April divestment meeting will be conducted by phone because the CalSTRS Board is meeting earlier that same day about legislation as it affects their investment strategies for the coming year. The Board will discuss this topic at 2:00 pm April 1, and several members of the divestment team are planning to attend to urge CalSTRS to support Senator Kevin de León's proposed coal divestment bill. Come join us, especially if you are a CalSTRS member. The Board meeting will be at CalSTRS headquarters, 100 Waterfront Place, West Sacramento.
We will begin our phone meeting at 7:00 pm with the latest news on Fossil Free California, including the work to strengthen Senator de León’s coal bill and our plans to lobby for its passage. The meeting will also include brief updates on campus, city/county, and faith group campaigns—and possible new projects. New members are welcome to join us.
