Breakfast for Divestment 4/9

calbreakfastfordivestment200x101.jpg

Support UC students as they begin a new campus divestment campaign directed toward the university chancellors at each campus. At an all-night action outside California Hall, Fossil Free Cal is calling on Berkeley Chancellor Nicholas Dirks to "stand with students, not with fossil fuels." (This event has been rescheduled due to the threat of rain.)

There will be a climate sleepover on the lawn—with music, speakers, and training on media and direct action—starting at 7 pm Wednesday. Breakfast for Divestment will be from 9 to 10 am Thursday, April 9. Chancellor Dirks has been invited to attend.

The students have issued an inspiring call:

We envision a future not overwhelmed by a global (and state-wide) water crisis, rising sea levels, ravaged by superstorms, and plagued with economic and racial injustice, ruled by the fossil fuel industry for the sake of profit over people. We envision a planet where all can thrive together.

Show our support by joining them Thursday at Breakfast for Divestment.
