Urge Berkeley City Council to Stop Crude Transport

Rally at 6:30 outside Old Berkeley City Hall

City Council meeting at 7:00 pm

Berkeley City Council member Linda Maio has asked us to come demonstrate our opposition to the impending transport of the explosive Bakken crude oil along the Union Pacific railroad tracks that run yards from populated sites in Berkeley, as well as Oakland, Hayward, San Leandro, Fremont Union city and hundreds of other vulnerable sites all the way to the Phillips 66 refinery in Santa Maria. Railroad tracks are exempt from local or state laws, but she will be proposing a number of steps the Berkeley City Council can take to express its strong opposition to this proposal.

See the KPIX report featuring Linda Maio.
