BayCAP Resolution outreach updates

Strategize next steps

Prepare for next BAAQMD Climate Protection Committee meeting

Bay Climate Action Plan (BayCAP) We're organizing to ask the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to develop a Regional Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Plan to reduce the Bay Area's GHG emissions to 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. That means reducing emissions from 100 million tons per year to 17.6 million tons per year.

Our path starts with getting the Air District Board to adopt this Resolution. First it must be passed by the Air Board's nine member Climate Protection Committee. We already have commitments for yes votes from six members - Committee Chair John Avalos, and Members Susan Adams, Teresa Barrett, John Gioia, Jan Pepper and Shirlee Zane.

New activists always welcome to join the team, or just attend a meeting and check it out.
