  • Update BAAQMD Board outreach plan
  • ID orgs for letters of support
  • Celebrate BAAQMD passage Keystone XL Resolution

The BayCAP team is headed toward critical path in getting our Resolution in front of the Air District Board of Directors for a vote. We're lobbying Board members and building alliances with supportive organizations. New people always welcome to the team. It's easy to jump start your participation.

First order of business is to get a majority of votes from the Climate Protection Committee (9 members, need 5 yeses, and we need to make sure they attend meeting when vote will happen) to forward the Resolution to the full Board.

AGENDA (draft):

Plan meetings with Air District Climate Committee Members with whom we haven't yet spoken to secure votes for BayCAP Resolution:

  • Jan Pepper
  • Teresa Barrett
  • David Hudson
  • Scott Haggerty

We currently have commitments for Yes votes from the Chair, John Avalos, Susan Adams and Shrilee Zane. We have met with and hope for Yes votes from John Gioia and Mark Ross.

Plan meetings with Air District Board Officers in anticipation of Board vote:

  • Ash Kalra (Chair)
  • Nate Miley (Vice-Chair, will be 2014 Chair)
  • Carole Groom (Secretary, will be 2015 Chair)

Organize campaign to get letters of support for BayCAP Resolution from orgs such as:

  • American Lung Association
  • Breath California
  • California Nurses Association
  • etc.
