Public Workshop on two proposed refinery rules
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is holding public workshops on two proposed rules regarding Bay Area refinery emissions tracking and mitigation. The proposed Tracking Rule will enhance requirements for tracking refinery emissions and crude oil composition. The proposed Mitigation Rule will require refineries to mitigate significant increases in emissions that may occur due to changes in crude oil composition or other causes. The Air District is the regional agency responsible for protecting air quality in the nine‐county Bay Area. The whole purpose of the workshops is to hear from the public! Please show up & let your voice be heard. There are four public workshops : 3/16 in Benicia, 3/17 in Richmond, 3/18 in Martinez, and 3/20 in San Francisco. The San Francisco workshop will be webcast.
