On Wednesday, June 1st, the Stationary Source Committee of BAAQMD (Bay Area Air Quality Management District) will meet to hear their staff's proposal to regulate all Bay Area refinery emissions of toxic and greenhouse gas pollutants. The Community-Worker proposal for enforceable, numerical caps on emissions is being considered in their rule-making proposal.
Another meeting of importance coming up is the full Board meeting of BAAQMD on June 15th where the vote will be taken on the recommendation made by the Stationary Source Committee. While this will be a key meeting, first let's see if we can all turn out at the meeting on June 1st, to support the numerical cap proposal that more closely reflects the goals expressed in the resolution the full Board passed in June 2014.
The belief and hope is that our Community Proposal for these caps will finally go to the full Board before their August recess.
