Art Build for March for Real Climate Leadership 12/14

'Pieces of the Solution' is a participatory art project for students, youth and adults to make art and handwritten letters in the shape of puzzle pieces that will be connected together and carried during the March for Real Climate Leadership on Feb 3rd, 2015 in Oakland, and ultimately delivered to Governor Brown. 
 
Here are the basic details. Greenpeace has very generously let us use their space in Oakland. 

WHAT: Art Build for March for Real Climate Leadership
WHERE: Greenpeace Warehouse, 955 7th St., Oakland, CA. 7 min walk from the West Oakland BART.
WHEN:  Saturday, December 13th from 11am - 2pm
WHAT TO BRING: Scissors, exact-o knives, big pieces of cardboard, 11X18 sheets of paper, markers and paint. 
This is just a heads up, more info to come.

Time in the streets is never wasted and sorely needed. And art draws attention in a riveting and non-violent way. That said, given all the demands of the season especially for artists who are busy selling their wares at this time, could this happen in January?

Is this the best use of our time??? Is there a more direct, less labor-intensive way to communicate our message to Gov. Brown….and this is an artist saying this.
